The prayer path began as a quiet question. What if we could turn the unused 10 acres behind Zion Lutheran church into a walking path for everyone to visit for prayer and meditation?
That wistful question grew into a ecumenical project, bringing together members from 6 churches who believed in the vision.
Thus in the Fall and Winter months of 2006, dozens of like-minded community members came together to trim trees, lay mulch, build benches and feed work crews.
There was no money, no tools and no machinery, so the volunteers brought their own hand tools and spread 30 tons of rock and 4 miles of mulch in wheelbarrows.
The prayer path and labyrinth was dedicated May 2007.
